What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Pentecostal Power Church - Lebanon based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

We believe in one God, the Almighty creator of Heaven and earth, who was manifested unto man in his son, Jesus Christ.
We believe in the one ever-living, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity.
The scripture does more than attempt to prove the existence of God; it asserts, assumes and declares that the knowledge of God is universal (Roman 1:19,21,28,32; 2:15). God is invisible, incorporeal, without parts, without body, and therefore free from all limitations. He is Spirit (John 4:24), and "a spirit hath not flesh and bones" (Luke 24:39).
"The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord" (Mark 12:29; Deuteronomy 6:4). "One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4:6).

Revelation

Before the incarnation, this one true God manifested Himself in divers ways. In the incarnation, He manifests Himself in the Son, who walked among men. As He works in the lives of believers, He manifests Himself as the Holy Spirit.  This one true God has revealed Himself as Father; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation (I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; II Corinthians 5:19; Joel 2:28).

Salvation

We believe that salvation is dependent upon obedience to the truth as contained in the apostles doctrine. As Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3, it is essential  to be filled with the Holy Ghost (Spirit).  In other words, being fire baptized and born of the spirit.
John 3:3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit."
Salvation is living a life in liberty daily denying and dying to yourself, choosing to carry the cross.  Daily repentance and living out your faith is essential to your continual salvation until the ultimate salvation of being caught up with or raised from resting in the Lord on that great day of the appearance of Jesus.

Baptism

We believe in a two-fold baptism of water and spirit, and that a person is not born of God until he or she has repented and been baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, filled with the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance. (Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:12-17, Acts 10:34-48, Acts 19:16, and St. John 3:1-5).

Water Baptism is essential to your salvation as explained throughout scripture.
Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Colossians 2:12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

1 Peter 3:20-22 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.[a] It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

Acts 2:38-40 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized,

Ressurection
