Dr. Charles E. Bennett, Ph.D. Div.

 Pastor

He was birthed under the ministry of Bishop Walter MacMichael located at Pentecostal Power Church of St. Louis, MO. Within 2 years of salvation, then Bro. Bennett was asked to become a Sunday School Teacher and began his ministry as a preacher and van driver. In 1976, Bro. Bennett married Sis. Betty Trotter and 4 years later was elevated to an Elder. He was then sent to Lebanon, IL to become the Interim Pastor of Pentecostal Power Church. After 2 years as the Interim, Elder Bennett was then promoted to the official Pastor of Pentecostal Power Church. The name was then changed to Pentecostal Power of Lebanon of the Apostolic Faith in 1985. In that little small church, God moved mightily through Elder Bennett. Multiple ministries were formed under his tutelage and he was a trailblazer in his own right.  PPC was one of the first churches in the area with a tape/video ministry and people would flock to the little white church filled with power.  God gave him messages titled “From the Prison, to the Palace”, “Double for Your Trouble”, and With Joy Do We Draw Water,” back in the late 80s, early 90s. In addition to Pastoring PPC of Lebanon, Elder Bennett served in the capacity of National Youth President of the Pentecostal Power Churches, Inc., was moved to the National Secretary, and then was elevated to National Chairman of the Board in 1999 after just 2 years of being ordained as a Bishop. Bishop Charles Bennett currently holds the position of Assistant Presiding Bishop of the N.P.P.C.I.  He introduces and implements new processes and ideas to the N.P.P.C.I. affiliation and continues to set the standard of excellence.  He has inspired so many young preachers and lay-member by preaching hope through Jesus Christ.  Bishop Bennett is fondly referred to as the professor, the saints all agree that not only will you receive a wholesome Word but you will also gain a history lesson with a little comedy thrown in.  He prepares the next generation of preachers, leaders, and disciples with in-depth biblical training and rigorous comprehensive tests that will leave you prepared to defend the gospel.  In 2009, he found a bible institute called The School of Prophets as a criteria to be ordained as an Elder within the National Pentecostal Power Churches, Inc. Throughout the years, Bishop Bennett has been a lifelong learner, furthering his education with courses at Liberty University and a bachelor’s degree from Faith Christian University. Always the one to glean from others, Bishop Bennett is apt to attending Church Leadership conferences such as “Pentecost in Perspective” with the late great Bishop Norman L. Wagner and most recently the “You Can Get There From Here” Conference with Bishop Mark Moore, Sr.  He is a proponent of empowerment, higher education, and excellence in all that you do.  This is a powerful preaching machine who teaches the Word in Excellence! Bishop says "I may not be 100%, but I'm giving God 100% of what I got."

Lady Betty J. Bennett

First Lady

Our dear First Lady, Mother Betty Jean Bennett was born on November 21, 1947 as Betty Jean Sims to Ellen Sims and Charles Nelson in Rome, MS. She grew into a responsible adult, learning skills from being the eldest of her other nine siblings. As a young adult and mother of three children, Miss Betty moved to St. Louis, MO in 1966. Early in life she heard of God in a nearby Baptist Church. Co-workers, Sister Nelson and Sister Queen, witnessed to and invited Sister Betty to Pentecostal Power Church of St.Louis. There, she was baptized in Jesus’ Name and received the Holy Ghost in 1969. Sister Betty served well under the pastorate of Bishop Walter McMichael. She became the catalyst for the Sims family to come into the knowledge of the Pentecostal Apostolic way. She demonstrated an unwavering faith in God so much so that through her not only did her family members and friends come through, but so did her husband. First Lady Bennett has accomplished so much in her lifetime. She has been affectionately called “The Queen.” She courageously stands with the Man of God as he leads the Pentecostal Power Church of Lebanon. She has been by his side for every ordination. In her own time, she has completed an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is responsible for establishing these community centered programs at the Pentecostal Power Church. Every year during the summer, the First Lady ensures that the Free Summer Food Program continues in the Community. This community has a voice and a champion for our children in First Lady Betty Bennett. The Saints of Pentecostal Power Church are covered well with this prayer warrior of a Woman of God!

Unknowingly by Sis. Bennett, who helped to bring Bro. Bennett into the church, God had a plan for this couple to be married on June 24th, 1976. In addition to the children they previously had, they birth four more children. To this union they have 8 children, 18 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Together in ministry, they have served in various positions throughout their local assemblies as well on National platforms. While Bishop worked Full Time on the railroad, First Lady Bennett ensured that the church carried on in his absence.
